🌎 New Here?

Doomsun is a fintech operating in the algorithmic trading space, with a thematic focus on energy transition, a rapidly growing sector fueled by the global shift from fossil fuels to low-carbon solutions and all the market chaos that entails. We're building NOVA, our platform for understanding the market structure of this turbulent sector and trading on our insights. NOVA enables systematic development, testing, and deployment of trading strategies by combining advanced signal processing and machine learning techniques using a highly configurable architecture. The result is actionable insights that capture volatility while revealing how these evolving markets behave under the hood. 

In addition to trading, we're building Daylight. This is our first customer-facing and SaaS product, powered by NOVA, which allows traders to run probability-based market forecasts, test scenarios, and adapt to changing conditions. It's our first step in productizing the technology behind NOVA for a wider audience. 

Our phased roadmap funds itself and widens the moat: build NOVA ➜ trade with proprietary capital/launch Daylight ➜ launch a $200M LP fund in early 2027 ➜ productize our data and SaaS insights. 

Core Team 

• Joe Smith (CEO): 20+ years leading teams in finance/fintech (Crescent Financial, Nubank, Cognitect), architecting and building distributed systems. 

• Daemian Mack (CTO): 20+ years in software development, including building finance systems for Fortune 50s and neo-banks (Crescent Financial, Nubank, Cognitect); now leads NOVA's development. 

• Harry McDonald (Business Development): Nebraska Wesleyan graduate focusing on fundraising, strategy development, and investor relations.

🔬 Inside NOVA Labs: Introducing Daylight

Daylight is the first product to be built on our NOVA platform. It is a market forecasting tool engineered to reveal how market structure changes in the moment, adding a layer of insight beyond traditional tools. Instead of relying on static "technical analysis" from decades past, Daylight delivers probability-based forecasts that adapt as conditions change. Every forecast is guided by the parameters you choose, giving you control to ask “what if?”. Whether you lean bullish, bearish, or somewhere in between, Daylight's advanced models give you a different way to look at how markets evolve.

The problem: Static technical analysis rarely delivers a persistent edge. Most traders lose money. Daylight doesn't promise predictions—it lets you set your assumptions, parameterize the models, and get transparent, probability-based outputs you can trade against all in a beautiful, modern interface featuring a host of configurable visualizations.

Our solution: Daylight embraces the chaos. Powered by NOVA's signal processing, machine learning models, and strategy engine, it offers:

• Simulation-based Forecasting: Understanding what the market is capable of. 

• Adaptive learning: Models that adjust to evolving conditions, not stuck with yesterday's assumptions.

• Fidelity tracking: Every forecast is compared to actual outcomes, measuring how true the simulation was to reality.

• Interval-aware flexibility: Works for short-term traders and long-horizon investors, provided the analysis is run on appropriate time intervals.

🚀Accelerating Product Development

We've secured a $100,000 Prototype Grant from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, plus a $50,000 match from our own funds, dedicated entirely to building Daylight.

Over the next 5–6 months, this funding will cover:

• Expand our engineering resources so Daylight can be developed in parallel with ongoing NOVA platform work.

• Build the data infrastructure for Daylight’s core forecasting engine

• Design a trader-focused user interface and workflow.

• Integrating Daylight into our NOVA backtesting and strategy development pipeline.

The grant allows us to attack multiple problems at once: strengthening NOVA while bringing Daylight to life, and it’s more than just cash, it’s third-party validation from the State of Nebraska that what we’re building has real market potential. 

But this is only phase one. To fully realize Daylight’s vision and accelerate NOVA’s development, we’re raising $500,000 in pre-seed funding. This will let us further grow our engineering team, speed up development, and shorten the time from prototype to production-ready platform.

The state has put their confidence (and dollars) behind us. Now we’re looking for investors who want to scale it. 

🏆 Recent Progress

1. Grant Win: Secured $100K prototype grant + $50K match for Daylight build.

2. 1 Million Cups Presentation: Successfully presented Doomsun to 50+ Omaha entrepreneurs, investors, and friends.

3. Daylight Architecture Finalized: Core design complete, technical specifications documented.

4. Investor Momentum: Our presentation at 1 Million Cups has produced several follow-up meetings!

🔨 What We're Building Now

• Continued Backtesting Development: Refining our engine to handle more complex scenarios and market conditions.

• Daylight Development: Moving from architecture into production build.

• Data Room Enhancement: Updating investor materials with the latest progress and refined messaging.

• Strategic Fundraising: Engaging with investors who are excited about the intersection of trading and technology.

• NOVA Strategy Development: Continued work on our first tranche of strategies and models. This includes simulation models and advanced statistical fingerprinting that will be used in Daylight.
